Press releases

Prague, March 13, 2025 - To develop dietary supplements that are as close as possible to real food of the highest quality and help people safely replenish missing nutrients - this was the goal set five years ago by Czech startup Trime and its founders - entrepreneur Michal Kočí together with nutritionist Jakub Pribyl. To date, Trime has launched a total of 18 products, including specialized lines for children or pregnant women. The newly Czech company reports a 57% year-on-year increase in turnover, a 68% increase in D2C (direct-to-customer) sales on the Czech market and 70% on the Slovak market. Sales of subscription products also increased by almost 140%. With the new identity that resulted from the complete rebranding, Trime plans to head into new European markets or launch its own production this year.

"A hectic lifestyle, daily stress and an excess of ultra-processed foods - these are just some of the negative influences to which humans are exposed today. For these and many other reasons, it is now virtually impossible to supply our bodies with vital substances from our regular diet alone. The vast majority of the population therefore has no choice but to supplement these substances effectively. However, we should also think about supplementation in the same way as we think about diet and use products that are not only effective but also safe in the long term. That is why we use mostly natural ingredients in our products and avoid any industrial processing that would nutritionally degrade the supplements," explains the philosophy of Trime, its co-founder and CEO Michal Kočí.

Natural dietary supplements pull

Last year, the ten-member team managed to increase sales on the Czech market in the form of D2C (direct-to-customer) by 68%, in Slovakia by 70%, and increased turnover by 57% year-on-year.A significant part of Trime's revenue is subscription fees - which increased by 138% in the Czech Republic and 127% in Slovakia compared to the previous year;

"We have been motivating our customers to subscribe for a long time, not only because of the financial savings. We believe that only regular supplementation has the potential to bring the expected benefits to the human body. For the same reason, we do not participate in regular discount events like Black Friday, because we want people to include supplementation in their lifestyle naturally and not to be inclined to one-off purchases," comments Kočí.

Multivitamin in two capsules

Trime's last product launched at the end of 2024 was a whole food-based multivitamin, which is close in composition to real food. For example, it does not use the proven potassium iodide as a source of iodine, but rather seaweed, which naturally accumulates this mineral. In addition, it contains other bioactive substances that work together in synergy to provide the human body with a higher nutritional potential than isolated and purified forms of nutrients. For example, the raw materials containing the substance in question are only dried and ground during production.

"In the supplement industry, it is common for the source material to go through a series of technological steps that requires the use of synthetic additives. However, the customer does not usually read about them on the label. However, thanks to modern technology, we have managed to bypass this process," says Jakub Přibyl, product developer and co-founder of Trime.

In addition, the multivitamin consists of two different capsules - powder and liquid. This is because some of the substances may interact with each other and therefore may not be stable throughout the expiry period. Some substances, such as fat-soluble vitamins, achieve the highest stability in powder form. In contrast, substances of an oil nature, such as beta carotenes, will be taken by customers in liquid capsule form. Trime is also trying to get closer to the original forms of the substances in which they are commonly found in nature;

"To keep the individual components of a multivitamin stable in a single capsule, we would have to rely on unwanted additives or technological steps. By splitting the product into two capsules, we do away with this necessity," adds Kočí.

New design, expansion and in-house production

In addition to new products, the Czech startup has also undergone a complete rebranding. This included both a new design and above all a redefinition of the company's direction, which aims for maximum naturalness and safety in supplementation;

"At Trime, we want to make a difference in personal prevention and offer people the support they need to better face the pitfalls of modern life, from which important nutrients are disappearing. We are not advocates of biohacking and the pressure to maximise the body's performance at all costs. Instead, we believe in a return to the basics of a healthy lifestyle and in carefully selecting the purest natural ingredients with maximum nutritional potential," adds Kočí,

This year, Trime plans to export its products for the first time outside the Czech Republic and expand into the Hungarian and Spanish markets. In addition, it is considering launching its own production. "We are constantly trying to innovate our products and are looking for technological ways to achieve this. However, we often find that our suppliers do not offer us these possibilities. In order to be able to market these products, we have to rely on our own production, from obtaining the raw materials to processing them," concludes Kočí.
